I love flowers
I love flowers and nature and i try and grow as much as the weather in south Florida will allow , also recently I learned that we are allowed to keep 2 chickens per household in the area i live in. lol hmmmmmmm at this point my husband is looking at me ---- NO chickens---. lol buttttttt i want egg laying Chickens weaaaaa weaaaa lol

A week in Chicago
It has been a long time since i have spent leisure time in Chicago so last week DH and i had a chance to go for 7 days .
I miss Chicago so much and my time there reaffirmed that.
the weather was great and i loved seeing my family and Friends and my DH had a great time spending time with his brother.
I miss going to Marshal fields getting my frango mint liqueur and chocolate as a treat for my Florida Friends. So i decided to go this time and i was greatly disappointed. most employs don't know there was a frango mint liqueur.
Since Macy's insisted on changing the marshal fields name and merchandise it is a hideous mess, most employs are not knowledgeable about the products the store sells and they don't care. i hate Macy's and will never set foot in any of there stores again. They sell crap and from the looks of the employs faces and actions they threat them like crap as well.
It was just to sad see such a change to great old store.
But i miss Chicago so much.

In all the madness of everyday life i have sadly neglected to get myself motivated in order to update my blog.

the oil and florida guls side
Every one keeps calling me and asking how we are doing with the oil spill so i am going to post this for all my Friends and relatives to read.
We are in the side of Florida that thankfully has absolutely no oil and we are thankful for having escaped this horror.
We are still dealing with my dad's passing and to top it off one of my DH Friends passed Sunday......
not a good Summer to say the least.

Being that June is wedding month i think i will write for the brides to be.
Increasingly in the media I am seeing articles on how brides an DIY there wedding flowers.
Being a floral designer for over 30 years and a coordinator /event planer this makes me scratch my head.
The news reporters and TV shows jump on this with out doing any type of research.
The bride ofcource has no time to DIY anything but her aunt and cousins may offer to do this.
There is so much wrong with this the hair stands up on the back of my neck.
As a professional designer I have saved cakes that were delivered and left out to early.
I have made sure that the correct name cards were placed on the correct table # and so on.
This will not give the bride ease of mind for a smooth event.
Ware are the flowers going to be kept does the Aunt / cousin / friend have the necessary skill to treat them before arranging them so they will not wilt in the middle of taking that one of a kind not to be duplicated and forever cherished Wedding picture.
A florist will have access to all kinds of rare flowers and out-of-season flowers if you are looking for something very specific or unique.
Even if she works for 24 hours straight,Aunt / cousin / friend will not be able to create the large number of bouquets, arrangements, corsages, pew decorations and centerpieces.
there is no end to the down side of this.

I am seriously considering a new job . I love working for my current venue but i need to be a bit busier i think??? Hmmmm what to do.
